Looking Ahead is 10 Years Old—
It's Time to Party!
How quickly they grow up! It seems like yesterday that we partnered with SAG-AFTRA to launch Looking Ahead. Since 2003, this unique program has been helping professional young performers and their families in Southern California to balance work, school and life, make new friends and take breaks from "the biz" to enjoy being a kid.
To celebrate a decade of growth and service to our young performers, current and prospective members, alumni, families and our dedicated Advisory Council (including Chair and Host Fred Savage) will gather for an awards celebration dinner on Thursday, June 6 at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Los Angeles. Happy birthday, Looking Ahead!

Thomas is "Looking Ahead" to College
"The Looking Ahead people have just become my second family—they're supportive no matter what I do, which is awesome."
—Thomas, Looking Ahead alum
Thomas is just one of several of our alums about to start his college journey this fall, with a little guidance from Education Counselor Laura Campbell, and Mom! Looking Ahead aims to build a community of support for young performers through events and group activities, support and counseling, community service and leadership development as well as education planning. Quote me on that!
"I think it's important for us to be in these kids' lives, because they're not in school. A lot of them have moved away from wherever they live across the country to come here. And it's supported by the unions...we take care of them and we help them grow!"
—Sharon Lieblein, VP of Casting and Talent Development at The Cartoon Network and Vice Chair of Looking Ahead's Advisory Committee talking to Indy Insider.

Celebrating the Legacy of Edwin Forrest
Our Annual Edwin Forrest Day on April 22 at The Home in Englewood was a beautiful celebration with Board members, Edwin Forrest Society members, supporters and residents, all of whom were treated to a wonderful reading of excerpts from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julius Caesar, Coriolanus and a Shakespeare sonnet by Michael Hajek (Actors Shakespeare Company of New Jersey), here with Trustee Honey Waldman.

…and in Los Angeles
