When Reagan, an IATSE Local 44 prop-maker, was having difficulty finding work, a friend told him about AWP. “I went in for the orientation, then met my career counselor – who is amazing – and we began to put together a plan.” Reagan tells his story.

A Road Map for Next Career Steps—Assisting IATSE Members Facing Layoffs in LA

Deluxe Film Laboratories is one of Los Angeles’s last film processing centers. When over 300 Deluxe employees faced imminent job loss last fall, IATSE Local 700 (which represents film processing technicians and other post-production workers) and the leadership of Deluxe Laboratories approached AWP to develop a comprehensive program to assist the workforce in next career steps. A Profile in Job Search Success— Pamela Jones

When Pam took a severance package after 11 years as an AGMA chorister with the New York City Opera, she was faced with having no health insurance. She came to AWP determined to obtain full time employment with benefits. Pam notes: “I found community, encouragement and support at AWP.” Read Pam's story.
