Entertainment Assistance Program (EAP)

Program Description

Life in the entertainment industry imposes  a unique set of demands. Inconsistent work and variable pay scales, late night schedules, travel away from home for long periods are just a few of the tough issues that people in the business face.

Our Entertainment Assistance Program (EAP) helps members of the entertainment community manage a variety of demands in their work and personal life. 

Services include Information, counseling and referrals, assistance in locating legal and health services as well as information on affordable housing and advice in dealing with landlord/tenant issues.  Support and education is a primary focus of EAP.  We offer seminars and groups on a wide variety of relevant topics.  In addition, emergency financial assistance may be provided for basic living expenses such as rent or medical expenses.

Program Eligibility

Any entertainment professional may call on the Entertainment Assistance Program for information or referrals to community agencies.

Eligibility for The Fund's financial assistance program requires an application, documentation of your professional earnings and an interview. In general, eligibility for financial assistance is based on:

  • A minimum of five years of industry employment with earnings of at least $6,500 for three out of the last five years
  • Financial need

This five-week workshop covers strategies for organizing expenses, balancing multiple sources of income and planning for dry spells. We also discuss tips for aligning your professional and financial goals.The Orientation session on May 20th is required for anyone wishing to participate in the workshop, but it is also open without obligation to anyone who simply wants to find out more about what is included in the program.
