Chemical DependencyProgram DescriptionThe Chemical Dependency Services program helps entertainment professionals and their families when there is a problem with drug and alcohol abuse or addiction. Our goal is to help people achieve and maintain sobriety and help family members, partners, or friends deal with the effects of addiction. Support during early recovery can help professionals and their family members with addiction problems achieve and maintain abstinence, enter into a recovery process, learn effective coping strategies, and take increasing responsibility for managing their lives without the use of mood-altering substances. Whenever possible, Social Workers meet in person to evaluate the person’s substance use. In addition social workers can organize interventions, make referrals to treatment, help coordinate care with treatment programs, and negotiate on the client’s behalf with insurance and managed care companies. Financial assistance may be available to help with the cost of treatment and other financial difficulties for eligible members and their family. The Chemical Dependency Services program also helps to educate and assist industry employers, supervisors, manager, agents, union representatives, etc. in addressing substance abuse issues in the workplace.
