Senior Housing Resources - Los Angeles
Los Angeles County has an array of housing resources for the 55+ community. Below are the Actors Fund’s favorites. In addition, specific opportunities will, from time to time, be posted on our Bulletin Board, so please also refer to that section of this website.
Menorah Housing Foundation
Menorah Housing Foundation develops and manages affordable independent-living senior apartment units. This service helps very low-income seniors aged 62 and older on fixed incomes to occupy safe, sanitary, accessible housing which they would otherwise be unable to afford in the local housing market. Applicants are selected from a lottery.

Alternative Living for the Aging
This is a roommate-matching service which facilitates placing seniors with other seniors, mid-age, and younger people 18+ so that they may have affordable housing, companionship, a sense of safety, and an ability to make ends meet. They also have co-op style buildings for 55+ individuals for independent living within a communal setting.

A Place for Mom
This free, nation-wide referral service helps families find nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Alzheimer's care, retirement communities, home care, and other senior care options. Enter your contact information on their website, and a representative will contact you. All income levels are appropriate.
