The Resources section is an ongoing collaborative effort at the Entertainment Community Fund to provide a one-stop database of services and organizations that meet the unique and essential needs of the arts and entertainment professional. Food

Catholic Charities

Provides relief and recovery services on a regional level, and responds to the need for emergency food, shelter, direct financial assistance, counseling and support. Other services include financial, medical and utilities assistance, clothing, housing, health care and child care. This site provides links to local branches, each of which provides direct assistance.

Disaster SNAP/Food Stamp Program

Provides replacement benefits for regular food stamp recipients who lose food in a disaster and extends benefits to many households which would not ordinarily be eligible but suddenly need food assistance. The benefits are delivered via Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards, which can expedite and mainstream the relief process for victims. Contact your state's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to apply.

Tool to locate food pantries, soup kitchens and senior centers throughout New York City.

Resources for Specific Populations

Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations

Provides a central resource database of health education and resource materials for medically underserved Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.

Gay Men of African Descent

An advocacy and service organization focusing on men of color. Offers an array of services from a drop-in center for seniors to health and wellness counseling, prevention education, street outreach and HIV testing.

Latino Commission on AIDS

Promotes health advocacy for Latinos and HIV education, develops model prevention programs for high-risk communities, and assists in building capacity in community organizations.

National Association on HIV Over Fifty

Provides advocacy, education, communication and support for HIV positive older adults, their families and those who provide care or conduct research on their behalf.

National Minority AIDS Council

Dedicated to developing leadership within communities of color to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS.

Capes Coaching

Capes Coaching is a career planning center for actors, artists and creative professionals. They offer private coaching, small group coaching and career planning classes.

Career Builder

Provides access to thousand of jobs openings. Information on job listing, searches, and services, salary calculation, advice and recommendations.

Career Transition For Dancers - a Program of the Entertainment Community Fund

Provides counseling and scholarship funds for dancers seeking a new career.

FastTrac NewVenture

The City of New York's Small Business Services Department offers comprehensive free boot camp to assist entrepreneurs with a well thought out idea for a new business, one-on-one assistance from experienced entrepreneurs, and connection to services that will help new entrepreneurs obtain licenses and permits and access loans and legal and hiring assistance.

Job Seekers Guide

The Job Seekers Guide helps job seekers identify their job skills, research careers, expand skills, and conduct an effective job search. The site was created by FEGS with funding from the US Department of Labor.

National Career Development Association

Provides services to the public and professionals involved with or interested in career development. A source for information about career counseling and a resource for referrals.

New York Career Zone
