Promises, Promises

See the September 19 Special Performance of PROMISES, PROMISES and support the vital programs and services of The Actors Fund.

It’s Manhattan. It’s the 60’s. And the city is back in full swing. In Broadway’s first-ever revival of Promises, Promises –
starring Emmy® winner Sean Hayes (Will and Grace) as the enterprising associate on the way up, Tony® and Emmy® winner Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked) as the cafeteria waitress whose romantic troubles have got her down and featuring 2010 Tony® winner Katie Finneran. Don’t miss this smart and sexy musical based on the Oscar® – winning Billy Wilder film, The Apartment.

The creative team is a perfect cocktail: a splashy score by the Academy Award® winning team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David, including such songs as “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again”. Add a book that takes turns tickling you funny bone and breaking your heart, courtesy of the legendary Neil Simon… Top it all off with a sparkling blend of direction and choreography by Tony® and Emmy® Award winner Rob Ashford – and you’ve got an intoxicating evening of Broadway magic.

“The Show is an inspiration with high emotional depth while maintaining its great humor.”
Hail David The New York Post

Actors Fund Special Performances have been thrilling audiences for 80 years with an electric energy unlike any other night of theatre!  What makes a Special Performance so "special"?  Each year, Broadway companies generously give their time and talent by adding a ninth performance to already rigorous schedules to benefit The Actors Fund.

We are delighted to acknowledge, with deepest appreciation, the ongoing support The Actors Fund receives from the Broadway community.  Please join us in giving a round of applause to the unions, producers, theatre operators, and members of the following organizations who make Special Performances possible by waiving their compensation to help The Actors Fund continue its vital work:

  • Actors' Equity Association
  • Associated Musicians of Greater New York, Local 802 AFM
  • Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers
  • Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers
  • United Scenic Artists Union
