Meet Cherie, Resident of The Lillian Booth Actors Home

A resident of our assisted living and skilled nursing facility in Englewood, NJ since 2008, Cherie Becker loves living at The Home. She enjoys long walks around the six acre grounds and surrounding neighborhoods, the monthly musical entertainment from Broadway singers and, as a “voracious reader” of biography, history and science, she takes advantage of the extensive library just for residents.

She also looks forward to hearing talks from “celebrity guests,” most recently Michael Feinstein, Tommy Tune, and Mary Rodgers, who visit monthly with residents. Thanks to Trustee John Erman for setting up these visits!

Cherie’s husband was Sandy Becker, the acclaimed actor, comedian, and television announcer best known for his well-loved children’s program, The Sandy Becker Show. Reflecting upon their thirty years of marriage, Cherie jokes, “Were it not I, I would have been jealous of me!” Her only regret? “I’m only sorry I didn’t move in sooner.”

Letters to “Stokes”

Dear Stokes,

I’ve often wondered if The Lillian Booth Actors Home is open to more than just people from the entertainment industry?
--Robert Karp, Member since 1991
