Congratulations Joe Benincasa— Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre
Congratulations Joe! Our President and CEO Joseph P. Benincasa, here with Chairman Brian Stokes Mitchell, was awarded the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre at a special cocktail ceremony this past June along with Broadway photographer Joan Marcus and general manager Charlotte Wilcox. As Joe says, "I am humbled and deeply grateful but this honor really belongs to everyone at The Fund. This recognition is wonderful and my hope is that it will shine a bright light on the vital work of The Actors Fund." Watch Joe’s Tony acceptance speech. Watch a video of Sutton Foster, Harvey Fierstein, Tyne Daly and Danny Burstein react to Joe’s honor on USA Today.

Barbara Cook Honored at LA Tony Awards® Viewing Party
Our 18th Annual Tony Awards® Viewing Party on June 8 was once again the place to be in LA on Broadway’s biggest night. The evening honored Broadway legend Barbara Cook with our Julie Harris Award, given by Barbara’s good friend and our co-host Florence Henderson (who was joined by fellow co-host Constantine Maroulis). Thanks to our generous donors and sponsors the evening raised more than $300,000—our most successful party to date. Read more.

Still Dreaming at The Lillian Booth Actors Home
This past June, residents and guests at The Lillian Booth Actors Home were treated to an exclusive special screening of Still Dreaming, a documentary by award-winning filmmakers Hank Rogerson and Jilann Spitzmiller that features directors Ben Steinfeld and Noah Brody of NYC’s Fiasco Theater as they led Home residents in a rehearsal period and production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Residents, their families and friends, and staff enjoyed seeing the film for the first time. We are very grateful to the filmmakers for doing this project and for sharing it with us on this special occasion! Watch the preview.
