THE ACTORS' FUND OF AMERICA'S STAR-STUDDED GALA HONORS ROCCO LANDESMAN AT CIPRIANI 42ND STREET ON MAY 8, 2006

March 1, 2006, New York, NY – The Actors’ Fund will hold their annual, star-studded black-tie gala dinner and tribute performance on Monday, May 8, 2006, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.  Cocktails begin at 6pm and dinner and all-star tribute performance at 7pm.

This year The Fund honors Producer Rocco Landesman, who will receive The Actors’ Fund Medal of Honor. As President of Jujamcyn Theaters, he has achieved remarkable success with such shows as THE PRODUCERS, BIG RIVER, INTO THE WOODS, M. BUTTERFLY, ANGELS IN AMERICA, CITY OF ANGELS, PROOF, THE SECRET GARDEN and CAROLINE OR CHANGE.  His encouragement of young playwrights, as well as his passion for theater, has energized the Broadway community and is largely responsible for enticing a younger and more diverse audience to the Great White Way.

“This year we honor a magnificent Broadway Producer,” states Joseph P. Benincasa, The Fund’s Executive Director.  “The Gala is the highlight of the year for us, because we can honor a Producer who’s also a gentleman who’s had a tremendous impact on the lives of people who work in the entertainment industry.”

“It is a thrill to be receiving The Actors’ Fund’s Medal of Honor,” said Mr. Landesman. “The Actors’ Fund is such an integral part of the Broadway community and I am honored to receive an award shared by so many dedicated theater professionals.”

The event is being chaired by Richard L. Fisher, Managing Partner, Fisher Brothers, Daryl Roth, Producer, and Steven Roth, Chairman and CEO, Vornado Realty Trust and will feature appearances and performances by Matthew Broderick, Kevin Kline and other very special guests. Additional honorees and entertainment updates will be announced in the next few weeks.
