Actors Fund Launches Online Store

(New York, NY) – The Actors Fund, which helps close to 10,000 performing arts and entertainment professionals in need across the country each year, has launched an online store on its website,

The store currently offers tickets to Actors Fund Special Performances, an 81-year tradition of extra performances by Broadway and road companies that provide significant funding for Actors Fund programs. The roster of performances now available include Boeing Boeing (this Sunday, July 20), Wicked (July 27), The Lion King (August 3) and Jersey Boys (August 24). And merchandise on sale includes an Actors Fund baseball cap, the Grammy®-nominated Ghostlight Records CD of The Fund’s benefit performance of Hair, and a limited edition ornament by renowned designer Christopher Radko commemorating The Fund’s 125th anniversary. Items available at the store will be expanded in the coming weeks and months.

“Adding a store to The Actors Fund’s acclaimed website is another step forward in bringing in new visitors to learn about The Fund while adding a new income stream for our programs,” said Actors Fund Executive Director Joe Benincasa. “As our website has expanded to provide service and resource information to hundreds of thousands of entertainment professionals each year, we believe it’s essential that The Fund use every opportunity to gain an increased presence on the web. The store is be a terrific component of these efforts.”

The Actors Fund is a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The Fund, which helps everyone – not just actors but all professionals who work in theatre, film, TV, music, dance, radio and opera,  is a safety net, providing social services, health services, employment and training programs, emergency assistance and housing for those who are in need, crisis or transition.
