AVENUE Q, THE LION KING, & WICKED ANNOUNCE DATES FOR SPECIAL PERFORMANCES TO BENEFIT THE ACTORS FUND OF AMERICA

March 22, 2006, New York, NY --

  • Monday, March 27 at 7 p.m.:  AVENUE Q at the Golden Theatre, 252 West 45th Street.  Tickets available at from $48.25 to $101.25.
  • Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m.: THE LION KING, Disney’s award winning musical at the New Amsterdam Theatre, 214 West 42nd Street.  Special Benefit Tickets available at $50 to $110.
  • Sunday, April 30 at 8 p.m.:  WICKED, starring Eden Espinosa, Megan Hilty, Ben Vereen and Carol Kane, at the Gershwin Theatre, 222 West 51st Street.  Tickets available from $50 to $110.

Special Performances are among the most thrilling theatrical experiences, and the hottest tickets in town. Broadway companies generously give their time and talent by adding these special shows to their already rigorous schedules, and perform for audiences full of their peers from the entertainment community. Proceeds from all Special Performances benefit The Actors Fund.

The Actors Fund is the national nonprofit organization that provides for the social welfare of all entertainment professionals. Professionals in film, television, radio, theatre, dance and music all turn to The Actors Fund in times of need. Programs include:  Entertainment Assistance Program, Mental Health Services, Chemical Dependency Services, Senior and Disabled Programs, Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, AIDS Initiative, The Actors Work Program, The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, Nursing Home and Assisted Living Care Facility, and supportive housing on both coasts.
