When Susan, who is married to a writer, received the official letter from the Writers Guild of America that she had two months left of her COBRA coverage, she took note of its advice to call The Actors Fund for help.

She phoned our Artists Health Insurance Resource Center and was connected to Health Benefits Counselor Vincent Musolino who said he’d do a bit of research. They spoke numerous times, and eventually he had great news: because she was on Social Security Disability, her benefits would extend another eleven months.

“My eyes filled up, and I said to him that I was so touched that he took the extra time to do this research.”

She contacted the WGA’s enrollment person, who verified Vincent’s findings and extended her benefits. Susan is truly grateful for everything The Actors Fund did for her: Vincent went above and beyond his job description, coming from a place of heart-centered caring. “I so dearly value everything Vincent at The Actors Fund did to help ensure my continued healing.”
